At Away We Go ~ Matike Mai, we help organisations and communities grow and thrive.

We are a specialist consultancy dedicated to blending income growth with positive social impact. Our team offers expert commercial, sponsorship, brand, marketing, and activation services. We partner with sport, charity, corporate, and government clients across Aotearoa New Zealand, Australia, and the Pacific.

We’re also the official Pacific Affiliate for Local Action Marketing (LAM) - a global agency based in Los Angeles that helps clients connect to mega-events such as the FIFA World Cup 2026 and 2028 Summer Games. Through this partnership, we connect Pacific clients with global opportunities and provide trusted delivery capability for international organisations working in the region.

We’re looking for talented Content Creators & Storytellers to join our growing stable of trusted external contractors. You’ll help bring client campaigns and partnership programmes to life - turning strategy into beautiful, professional materials that inspire investment and engagement.

This opportunity is perfect for self-employed contractors or small business owners looking for regular work.

What you’ll do:

  • Produce high-quality, investment-ready sales decks, funding applications, proposals, and campaign materials

  • Write clear, persuasive, and engaging sales copy aligned with client tone and commercial objectives

  • Work with our team and external designers to brief, review, and finalise artwork

  • Support the development of B2B and B2C materials that tell authentic, purpose-led stories

What you’ll bring:

  • Strong sales-oriented writing, design, and visual storytelling skills

  • Particular confidence using Canva and working within brand frameworks

  • Ability to translate creative and commercial ideas into professional, client-ready outputs

  • A self-starting, reliable approach and strong attention to detail

  • Comfort collaborating as part of a team and integrating feedback from a wide range of sources

The opportunity:

  • Join a values-led consultancy working with national and global clients

  • Receive regular project work from our portfolio across sport, charity, corporate, and government sectors

  • Enjoy complete flexibility - no set hours or budget; ideal for an independent contractor or small business owner

  • Sport sector experience is valuable but not essential - we’re looking for creativity and commercial storytelling skills
