  • Gender Equality

    Our CEO was also CEO of Women in Sport Aotearoa (WISPA), Ngā Wāhine Hākinakina o Aotearoa and Secretary General of the International Working Group (IWG) on Women & Sport for over 4 years, from September 2018 to December 2022.

    This included the staging of the world’s largest conference on gender equity in sport, the IWG World Conference on Women & Sport, attracting 1,850+ leaders from 300+ organisations in 90 countries.

  • Disability Inclusivity

    Our CEO and Client Services Director both held senior commercial, marketing and strategic leadership roles at Paralympics New Zealand (PNZ) and the New Zealand Paralympic Team during the past decade.

    This included global activation of Rio 2016, the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Paralympic Games, Tokyo 2020, the Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympic Games, Paris 2024 and extensive work advocating for increased inclusion of disabled people in sport.

  • Tikanga Māori

    Our CEO began her Te Ao Māori journey in late 2018, undertaking training through Te Kaa (with Precious Clark / Maurea Consulting), and going on to hold a relationship with Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei.

    She helped to set-up the WISPA rōpū - He Wahine Toa Kei Te Kokiri (Strong Women Making a Move) and oversaw the integration of tikanga (protocol) into all mahi (work), especially the IWG World Conference.

    The Away We Go ~ Matike Mai team is fully committed to honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
