oUR STORY
Founded in late 2022, Away We Go ~ Matike Mai was created to bridge two worlds.
It grew from the experience of our founder, Rachel Froggatt, whose 25-year career in sport and social purpose spans 7x seasons in Formula 1, the Olympic and Paralympic Games, Commonwealth Games, and UEFA Champions League, as well as grassroots, community, and social development programmes across Aotearoa New Zealand.
Today, a team of like-minded professionals has built on that original foundation - bringing seniority, commercial acumen, creative thinking, and social purpose to every project. Away We Go’s team of specialists averages 25+ years of experience each in their chosen fields.
This combined experience - working with world-class corporate sponsors, sports rightsholders, charities, government, and media owners - underpins our collective belief that strategy, partnerships, and storytelling, when connected with social purpose, can progress both organisational growth and genuine community impact.
Our name reflects who we are. ‘Away We Go’ is a call to action - the spark that starts the journey. It’s also a sneaky nod to Rachel’s time in Formula 1, as it’s said at the start of a race! ‘Matike Mai’, gifted to us by mātauranga (Māori knowledge) expert Moe Milne (Ngāti Hine, Ngāpuhi), means ‘rise up’ in te reo Māori. Together, they capture our worldview: movement with intent, grounded in a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
In 2025, we joined Local Action Marketing (LAM) - a global sports marketing agency based in Los Angeles - as its official Regional Affiliate for the Pacific. This partnership has extended our reach, connecting our Pacific clients with international opportunities while supporting global partners with trusted capability across the Pacific.
